Information Seminar Held

On November 16, 2023, at 4:00 PM in the Integrated Services Complex in Smyadovo, an Information Seminar on overcoming negative stereotypes took place with students from V and VI grades of ‘St. St. Cyril and Methodius’ Secondary School in Smyadovo.

The event was organized by the NGO Health, Culture, Well-being, Integrated Sustainable Development.

The aim of the seminar was to bring about a change in interpersonal relationship stereotypes within the class, unite the group, develop skills for self-expression and self-disclosure, create conditions for realizing the need for tolerance in communication, overcome negative prejudices and biases, and increase overall culture and education on the topic.

The participants were also motivated to realize and understand the need to change the communication and conflict resolution models they use. Through various role-playing games, students were given the opportunity to feel what it means ‘to be different,’ to recognize the value of diversity in human characters and cultures. Skills were developed in the students to understand the feelings of others and express their own experiences. New tolerant models of communication, understandings, and evaluations for the ‘differently other’ were acquired by changing and reworking existing stereotypes, prejudices, and biases.

Congratulations to the children were conveyed by the vocal group ‘Daisies’ led by Dimitrichka Dimova
